河北迁安国家地质公园山叶口景区位于河北省迁安市大五里乡，景区总面积14km2,景区东距秦皇岛100km,南距京沈高速32km，西距北京200km，交通十分便捷。山叶口景区三面环山，景区内地质遗迹景观多样，自然环境优美，生态资源丰富，是一处集科学考察、科普活动、休闲旅游于一体的多功能景区。

山叶口景区主要地持遗迹包括：距今约18亿年的长城系砾岩露头及沿节理破裂崩塌的滚石、出露较好的长城系与太古界不整合接触界限、崩塌堆积地貌以及其他地貌景观。主要景观有奇峰、五彩石、潭瀑等40余处。五彩溪谷中散落有五光十色的“五彩石”，潺潺溪水漫石而下，异常奇特秀丽。景区内清晰地出露了太古界迁西群与元古界长城系的接触界线，两者之间代表了约10亿年的地层缺失。您在这里可以一步跨越10亿年的地质历史，感受大自然的神奇。构造节理面使砾岩如同刀砍剑劈般的平整，差异风化作用则形成了诸多象形石，大自然的力量将它们雕琢的惟妙惟肖。平顶山与挂云山的险峰绝壁令人惊叹，幽静山谷，潭瀑相连，喷珠泻玉，如此美景让人流连忘返。

景区内生态资源丰富，古树参天，遮天蔽日，形成了独具特色的万亩松林奇景，也成为生态环境治理和植树造林的典范。傲然挺立的千年古松，数万亩的原始森林，都成为在北方罕见的景观。

Located in Dawuli Township,Qian’an City ,Hebei province,Shanyekou geoheritage scenic area of Qian’an National Geopark covers a total area of 14km2. The scenic area enjoys extremely traffic conditions because it is only 100km from Qinhuangdao in the east ,32km from the Beijing-Shenyang Expressway in the south and 200km from Beijing in the west. Surrounded by mountains on three sides,the scenic area have various geoheritage resources,beautiful natural environment and rich ecological resources.Therefore,this is a multi-functional scenic area combining scientific expeditions,science popularization activities and leisure tourism.

The major geoheritage resources are:the conglomerate outcrop formed in the Changcheng Systerm,dating back approximately 1.8billion years,the rolling stone ruptured and collapsed along joints,the unconformable contact between the relatively well –outcropped Changcheng System and Archaean Group,collapse accumulation landform as well as other geomorphologic landscapers.The major landscapes include over 40 sites of rare peaks,colorful stones,ponds,waterfalls,and stones valley,etc.The splendid colorful stones are scattering along the colorful stone stream,the water flows down over the stones,forming a landscape characterized by extreme peculiarity and beauty.The contact boundary line between Archaean Qianxi Group and Proterzoic Changcheng System is explicitly exposed within the scenic area,representing about 1billion year lacuna.With a single step,you may stride across a geological history over 1billion years and feel the miraculousness of nature.The tectonic joint surface of conglomerate rocks are smooth as if they had been chopped and split with knives and swords,differential weathering has formed numerous pictographic stones,and the magic power of nature has carved and polished them to be blessed with so much vivid resemblance.The precipitous peaks and cliffs on Pingding(Flat Top) Hill and Guayun(Cloud-hanging) Hill are awe-inspiring indeed.The valley is serene,and the ponds connected with waterfalls are splashing and plunging pearl-like water drops.Isn’t such spectacular scenery fascinating.

The scenic area is rich in eco-resources.The old tall trees and pine forest have formed a uniquely characteristic and wonderful view,as well as a paragon for comprehensive ecological improvement and afforestation.Both the 1000-year old pine trees and the primitive forest are rare in Northern China.

Shanyekou geoheritage scenic area is characterized with unique geomorphologic landscaper and pleasant eco-environment.Entering the scenic area,you may trace back the history of the earth,admire the vagarious rocks,view the mountain scenery,listen to the soughing sounds of the pine forest,and enjoy the mysterious nature.
